Come in and savor a lovely pot of tea and some delectable sweets between 2 and 5 pm while enjoying gypsy dance performed by Zahara. If you so desire, after her performance, she will also read your tea leaves or your palm - the future could look very promising for you! Zahara will perform this coming Tuesday, August 17th and on the third Tuesday of each month. She has also agreed to take part in our Grand Opening Soiree on Saturday, October 9th and has planned a special Halloween Eve performance.
Zahara has delighted audiences from coast to coast with her grace and exotic movement. She has performed locally for Indianapolis Mayor Bill Hudnut, Governor Evan Byah, Survivor, Channel 59 weatherman Cody, and many more. Helena's dance often takes on a spiritual aspects when she invites others to dance and laugh as they explore new dimensions of themselves...
“Learning discipline is a part of dance that flows over into other areas of life. Dancing is the core of who I am and and provided a venue to the credentials I use daily to help others find their center. Dancing helps you think outside the box.” Zahara has been teaching Oriental Danse or Raks Sharki in her Lebanese family tradition of dance since 1980.
The Iris is available evenings and Saturdays for meetings such as church, community, writer's and womens' groups. Also, special events such as showers, retirement/birthday parties, and of course your special 'Tea'! There has been great interest in the meeting space, so call soon to reserve your day and time. Miranda is looking forward to hosting your group.
