October 30th will be the date for the annual Irvington Halloween Festival and The Iris plans to be a part of it! For over 60 years, the Historic Irvington Halloween Festival has brought together thousands of residents, dozens of neighborhood organizations, and countless Eastside businesses in a fun-filled celebration of community. To celebrate the season and her joyful participation in the Festival, Miranda will be offering hot apple cider,along with pumpkin and apple goodies. All food and drink will be "to go" only on this occasion. Plan to stop in and visit the Iris TeaRoom between 10 am and 6 pm. This is a great time to check out the tearoom and the unique gifts available. Our offering of the harvest special bouquet is still only $15.00. We are pleased to be able to offer palm readings and Zen card readings from 10 a.m. to 1:30 pm - the readings will be for 15 minutes and only a donation is requested. There may also be other "readers" on the morning of the Festival. From 2 to 5, we will be featuring the lovely gypsy dance of our special guest Zahara and for a donation she also has agreed to read your tea leaves or your palm! Please contact Miranda at the shop to sign up for your 15 minute reading. You'll have to plan on returning to the shop at another time to sample the beautiful assortment of teas and goodies served on lovely china and enjoy the soothing ambiance offered by The Iris.
The Iris is available evenings and Saturdays for meetings such as church, community, writer's and womens' groups. Also, special events such as showers, retirement/birthday parties, and of course your special 'Tea'! There has been great interest in the meeting space, so call soon to reserve your day and time. Miranda is looking forward to hosting your group.
